Mari y Elvis at dinner

La Muneca

Joan with Laura and her keepsake book & cake

...and her court

La Quincinera

A beautifiul night

Wow -- the planning and work was all worth it! The ceremony was so wonderful and quite an experience. Each part of the ceremony had a special signifigance. Laura was blessed by many people during and after the ceremony, which was really two parts. The first part was religious and the second part was "social." Take a look at the pictures for an idea of what it was like! A nice dinner was served afterwards and then she opened her gifts.

Time to travel home again, so we told the children goodbye this morning when they left for Sunday School.

Finally -- the big day is here

The younger children who are not participating in tonight's ceremony went to the prison late yesterday to spend the weekend with their parents. It is a little more quiet around here without them!
So much going on today -- we formated and printed tonight's programs and decorated them with ribbon; the girls' dresses are pressed and ready to go; the boys have tried on their tuxedos and they are ready to go. The girls went to have their nails painted; a lady came to the girls' home to give Laura a manicure and pedicure on her special day. WOW...and it's only lunch time!
The caterer and florist arrive today at 4 pm to set everything up, so things will really be busy by then!
More posting later as the day goes on!
